I'd imagine whoever sent you that message is full of sh1t, but I'd expect Edmonton to be on his list (when he submits it) because the Oilers was always his favorite team... Plus he realizes that the next Canadian team to win the cup WILL be the Oilers.

Okay, here's a question I didn't even touch on in the blog: What if Luongo did submit a list, and it did have the Oilers name on it? And what if the Canucks were actually open to making a deal?

If you're the Oilers, are you interested? How much is good goaltender Luongo with his terrible contract worth? And please, don't say "Paajarvi". He's the default player everyone using whenever they talk about the Oilers making a deal. "Oh, we'll give you Paajarvi for..." Poor guy has been dealt 1,000 times already.

I'd say Paajarvi perhaps? Seriously though, any team willing to take that ridiculous contract should get him for dirt cheap... 2nd rounder tops IMO. Isn't Luongo signed until he's like 44? I'd be iffy about taking that contract on. I'd rather not take it on actually...

I don't think Luongo wants to play past age 40 with the way the contract is structured. But that being said, you're right...I wouldn't be offering up much for him. In fact, I'd be looking to dump off a bad contract as part of the deal.

As I mentioned, TSN says Chicago, Toronto and Tampa Bay are all possible, with Toronto being the preferred destination.

Leafs supposedly being the preferred destination reveals that this is yet another of those baseless rumors spread by fools thinking Toronto is the center of the hockey world.

It's easier to believe Edmonton is (will be) on that list, the team actually looks like one that has a bright future.

I don't know that I'd go to the Toronto conspiracy well quite yet, but I will say that. from the outside at least, Luongo seemed to have some issues with the media attention and whatnot in Vancouver. Why in the hell would he actually CHOOSE to go to a place where that would be 100 x worse? I think it's safe to say he wants no part of the media circus and stays away from any Canadian team. Tampa makes the most sense for a whole lot of reasons.
